I was starting to think that Pigeon Forge was the land without vegetables when we finally saw a trusty Mellow Mushroom. We ordered a large Greek salad and it was delicious! It had tons of fresh lettuce, kalamata olives, cucumbers, green peppers, and feta. If you are feeling veggie deprived or if you are over deep fried veggies, take a break and check out Mellow Mushroom. We ordered our meal to go and they provided plates and flatware which was awesome as we wanted to enjoy our meal poolside. We also ordered a small pizza which was enough for all three of us to have a piece of pizza. They made it with a whole grain crust, chicken, and tons of veggies.

the food was good...was pretty surprised how expensive the bill was just for lunch. The server wasn't the most polite, but nothing too bad.

Tried the Mellow Mushroom on a whim on the recommendation of fellow yelpers and thought it was great. We had a large party of 10 and had to wait a while but it was worth it. The pizza was phenomenal and I only wish I had more time and wasn't so full so I could sample more of their pizzas. And trust me I'm from Chicago so I know my pizza. My wife and I split a salad and a pizza with a bunch of mushrooms bacon pesto and cheese...loved it. Great job! Only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that the beer selection was a little light...regardless I'd be back in a heartbeat!

I really really like this Mellow Mushroom. The decor is so unique and it totally sets the place! I'm not a big pizza eater, but I do know their hoagies and salads are delish! And I've heard that they have some darn good pizza. Of course, this location is very crowded like everything in Pigeon Forge.

Wow!! Wife and I loved it!! Great service with EXCELLENT spinach salad! The house special pizza is the best I've ever had and food was brought in a timely manner. Decor was great too.

In Pigeon Forge, you will not find better pizza than this... think about that.

Had the steak and cheese calzone and cheese bread very good and service was outstanding.

It's good pizza but not really worth the price. We ordered a large Pepperoni/Pineapple/Bacon for carryout that was quite tasty. The pizza was fresh, the toppings were plentiful, but it wasn't really worth the $26 we paid for it. If I'm gonna pay $26 for a pizza, it better be a special pizza rather than just a good one. There are other good pizzas in Pigeon Forge for a cheaper price.

Decided to celebrate a birthday with dinner at the MM. Was seated quickly then waited 10 minutes, many wait staff passed us by but no one spoke or looked our way. Went to the hostess stand and asked if they could find out who our waitress was, waited another 6 or 7 minutes and left. Even a manager walked right passed us several times. Won't be returning.

This was our first time visiting the Mellow Mushroom. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated, not bad for a party of 6 on a Saturday night. We ordered three pizzas but only received two of them because the waiter forgot to put the order in for the third one (hence the missing stars). We started with the cheesy garlic bread appetizer it was just OK, probably not something I would purchase again. The mighty meat pizza was surprisingly delicious, and was the first one gone. The cheese pizza was nothing exciting but good for the kids. After being seated we where though for over an hour, the decor was different. We sat directly across from the lava lamp private booth, which was pretty neat. Our waiter was alright but could have been more attentive.

This is really good pizza. It's not Racine, WI pizza (I always have to add that reference point), but it's good pizza. There's great pizza (Racine), and then there's everybody else, and then there are the pizzas that stand out in the everybody else crowd. Mellow Mushroom stands out. The first thing that impressed me was that there was more than one veggie pizza. The next thing was that the veggie pizza descriptions actually won me over when there was meat on the menu!! The third thing that impressed me was that this pizza was yummmmmmmmmy! I ordered the Kosmic Karma. I really like putting different cheeses on my pizza. I could hardly wait to save half of my pizza and wake up in the morning to eat the other half! I would definitely eat here again.

Awesome food, Nicholas was our waiter, he was busy when we first day down so a manager came over and took our drink order,. We had the Chicken Q pizza and a calzone, the same manager came over and ask how we were them another manager came over and made sure we were doing good!!! Not only to our table but to all the tables helping where needed so everyone is satisfied!!! Great to see team work, you just don't see that very often!!!

Wonderful!!! I ordered a gluten free Mediterranean themed pizza that came with a side of the tzatziki sauce. I was a little skeptical at first but my husband insisted on ordering it. I am so glad he did! The service was great and so was the atmosphere! I will for sure go back and recommend it to friends!! :)

What is not to like at a Mellow Mushroom? We always get the pretzels. Those are awesome! I always order a large House and get rid of the sausage and replace that with extra bacon. Freakin' delicious. This is coming from a guy who could care less about pizza.

Amazing. Delicious pizza. The service was great. The pizza is amazing. We had the red bliss potato and I wish there was a MM closer to us!!!

We don't have these back home, so I'm sure this is your typical Mellow Mushroom. Music was pretty loud and the place was packed. Service was friendly but a bit slow. I think we made some poor food selections - first we ordered pretzels thinking they would be normal pretzels, but it was just pizza dough in the shape of a pretzel. With the parmesean cheese and pizza sauce it tasted like we were eating a pizza crust. Then we ordered a pizza with shrimp on it. Wow, that was the most overcooked shrimp I've ever had! Very tough. Overall it was ok. I'll try it again in a non-touristy location.

On our first visit to a Mellow Mushroom, we tried the bruschetta, two chef's salads, and a house special pizza for the kids. Everything was great. The pizza compares favorably with my favorite pizzeria, Carlo V in Alba Adriatica. The salad components were very fresh and nicely assembled. The service was, on the whole, attentive and responsive. The turret room was gorgeous. There was, however, one fly in the ointment. I understand that most Americans pronounce our appetizer BRUSH-ETTA, and that's fine. It's also fine for the waiter to pronounce it as most Americans do. But I pronounce it BROOS-KEH-TA, and the waiter corrected me, twice. That last time he said, with a professorial air, "It's pronounced BRUSH-ETTA" Now, I wouldn't dream of correcting the waiter for pronouncing it wrong, but he was just plain out of line to correct me for pronouncing it right. You'd think that a chain that specializes in Italian food would teach their waitstaff to be aware of how people pronounce their products, and to be accepting of alternate pronunciations. The Greek restaurateurs figured this out long ago. You can pronounce "gyros" anywhere from JY-ROSE to YEE-ROHS and they'll welcome you and your business. Why not just enlighten the waiter? A Mexican does not correct a white person, not in the South, not unless you want your family thrown out of the restaurant.

Visited the Mellow Mushroom. And sorry to announce that the pizza was not mellow. The crust was burnt and the pizza was soooo thin it was like eating a cracker. The waitresses were they only redeeming factor of going there.

This was my first Mellow Mushroom experience and I loved it. I loved the wide variety of fresh ingredients. We ordered the pizza with pesto and regular sauce. It was heavenly. The service was a little better than average. I can't wait to return!

SUPER good pizza. I couldn't tell if the employees were hippies or hipster at first, which caused me to stare awkwardly at our waiter while he tried to take our drink order. The music and lights made me feel like I was tripping balls but I really enjoyed it. Very mellow as the name states. The only downside to this place, and I mean only, is the super cheap silverware. I mean what is this, Pizza Hut? I bent my fork. Whatever. Would never keep me from coming back. 5 stars. Great place.

Great pizza and that means a lot coming from a Chicago guy! My wife and I started by sharing a regular sized spinach salad and it was fabulous. I ordered a small specialty mushroom pizza and it was off the hook. Incredible blend of flavors and a perfect crust. My wife had a small pizza with green peppers, mushrooms and onions and it was also good. Quick service, friendly staff, and a cool atmosphere rounded out a nice, reasonably priced meal.

The mushroom soup is to die for. The pizzas are amazing. Do it would get a5 star review if it was not for the fact that they have a firearm prohibition policy.

Neat place to eat! Friendly server and manager. The food is awesome. Allow an hour to order and eat. We had the mighty meaty on half and pepperoni on the other half. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for some pizza! Bar looked nice as well. Check em out!

Strange name for a pizza place, debated whether to stop, so glad we did. Unusual but very tasty topping combinations. Crust has a little molasses that gives it a unique flavor. A good variety of specialty combinations or create your own. Good selection of appetizers and desserts with full bar. The also offer a gluten free menu. Sandwiches, soups and salads on the menu as well

Three words - Buffalo Tempeh Calzone. I never expected a faux-stoner pizza joint in Tennessee to make my dreams come true, but it happened. We stopped here for a lunch break in between putt-putt matches and I was having a really tough time making a lunch selection. There were just too many options and I couldn't make up my mind. And then our marvelously helpful waiter mentioned that not only could the tempeh or tofu be added to any item on the menu, it could also be marinated in any of their sauces - and that the buffalo sauce here is vegetarian. (Note to vegans - they also offer Daiya vegan cheese.) Decision making instantly became a snap - and I ordered a calzone stuffed with buffalo tempeh, blue cheese, and broccoli. My husband ordered the sausage sub on a rye hoagie roll (which he loved.) That calzone was everything that I hoped for, crisp exterior, non-greasy, good balance of filling to dough, and a cup of their slightly sweet red sauce on the side for any dipping needs. The buffalo sauce was plentiful enough that I didn't need any extra on the side - and that tempeh... yum. My husband is typically not on board with tempeh, but he snagged more than one bite of my calzone and declared it to be delicious. Mellow Mushroom delivered again with excellent food and service - we were so stoked to discover that there is now a location in DC too!

Came highly recommended and did not disappoint. The crust is the best and the entire family liked it. Meat lovers variety was good too. it is a bit pricier, but worth it.

Rejoice! That's what I felt like saying when my girlfriend and I found a Mellow Mushroom in Pigeon Forge. We didn't have to settle for a steakhouse or a flapjack joint after all. I thought I was familiar with Mellow Mushroom's menu, but I had no idea they offer vegan cheese now! I'm not a vegan, but that is certainly worth mentioning.

Nice place, food was amazing but music was way to loud. You couldn't carry on a normal conversation. Server didn't even ask if I wanted my change he just didn't bring it back... Regardless it was less than a dollar but I didn't leave him any tip because of that. If you can't be trusted with less than a dollar then you won't get my $5

Food was good. Service was not. We went on a Sunday night. It was crowded, but we were immediately seated at a 2-top. Our server, Angeleah, came by right away and took our drink orders. We ordered beers and she carded both of us, even though we are in our 50's. She said she was required to card everyone ordering alcohol. If that is truly the restaurant policy, that should be changed, as it can be annoying when you are over twice the legal age. It went downhill from there. We ordered a pizza and two tossed salads. After about 20 minutes, we asked for a couple of waters and if we could have our salads first. Then, someone else brought our pizza. 5 minutes later, 1 salad arrived. After another 5 minutes, the other salad arrived. Soon after, Dan (a manager?) came by the table. We told him the service was not very good. He didn't apologize, just said he would look into it. Later, we asked our server for a box for our leftover pizza. She walked by twice with it in her hand, but didn't seem to remember which table requested it. When the check finally came, the receipt showed only one salad and that salad was credited off our bill. I assume the manager took it off our bill, but no one ever told us that. Very strange. We left a decent tip, but it was certainly not deserved. I overheard our server apologizing to at least two other tables, so maybe this was just a bad night for her. Food was good, but not sure I would go back.

I had lunch with my son today because it is right next to Magiquest and we were out doing the touristy stuff. Well this place was amazing! I got a small mega veggie pizza and my son got the kids meatballs and we were stuffed! If it wasn't such a long drive home I would have gotten another pizza for later!

Three stars really isn't bad and neither was this pizza. For Pigeon Forge you'll be hard pressed to do better. The toppings were original and really good but the crust is where this pizza fell short. Not at all yeasty, soft and chewy but instead the crust was bland and the texture was a bit soggy towards the middle and tough towards the outside and because the crust was so thin the slices totally drooped when you picked them up. My daughter makes a far better pizza dough than these guys do (she got the recipe from Allrecipes.com ). The large pizzas were pretty big (a plus) but cut into too few slices which made them really huge. They really could have cut the pizza into more slices. This pizza can't hold a candle to Round Table or Pizza Antica (only on the west coast - bummer) but for Pigeon Forge it's about as good as it gets. As for their non-pizza items I can't say since all we had was the pizza. We will probably try those the next time we are in PF.

We were on a family vacation in Pigeon Forge, TN. Three vegans and one omnivore. I had researched on Yelp before going and saw that Mellow Mushroom was across the street from where we were staying. It was our first stop after we checked in. I thought the name sounds like a weird stoner reference and the inside of the place confirmed it. It was weird being in a commercialized stoner pizza place, but as far as interior decorating goes, it could have been worse. Even though we knew they offered vegan cheese, we had to ask our server lots of questions to make sure the dough and bread didn't have dairy either. Our server was so patient and got us all the information we needed. (No, the crust and the dough doesn't have milk in it, although you have to make sure to specify the crust needs to be dairy free. Otherwise they brush it with butter and parmesan cheese.) We ordered a tofu hoagie, a vegan pizza, and one of their salads. We also asked for their hummus plate as an appetizer. Their pretzels do have dairy, so if you're vegan they will substitute carrot sticks and celery for you to dip in the hummus instead. I had VERY low expectations for Tennessee pizza and Mellow Mushroom exceeded them by leaps and bounds. The crust was surprisingly NY/NJ like and toppings were fresh. The salad, hummus, and hoagie were good too. The hoagie tofu is marinated in a soy-sauce based marinade--it doesn't seem like that would translate to a decent hoagie, but it did a perfectly okay job of it. We came back again to eat on the same trip a day later and the waitress suggested vegan cheesy bread. It was not on the menu but they had just made it for someone else earlier in the week who had a dairy allergy. We were thrilled to try it. The service was super friendly. The food is expensive for the area, but as vegans, we know that's the price we pay. I can't believe I am typing this, but I am bummed there isn't a Mellow Mushroom closer to NJ. I don't know if a non-vegan really needs to pick this place as their first choice in Pigeon Forge, but if you have dietary restrictions, it is a great choice.

The pizza was just ok.. I thought it would be great... Would have given it 3 stars if not for the waiter who forced us to order an appetizer claiming that the pizzas take 20 to 25 minutes.. Finally the pizza and the appetizer came almost at the same time... Not sure why they did since the pizza was just similar to a fast food pizza.. Pizzas are pretty costly though about 20$ for a medium pizza.. Not sure if I want to pay that much again as I have had much better pizzas from better places which was just between 10 - 15$...

Overall I'd recommend it if you don't mind spending on a meal. Pros: Really good pizza. I used to make pizzas and the things that go into a good pizza are 1) Good crust 2) Good quality cheeses 3) Non-Greasiness 4) Well balanced flavor/seasonings. And this place has all this. We had the holy mushroom pizza and it was truly bad-ass. Cons: The service can be a little slow and offbeat, but eh, it's a pizza place. Also, pretty expensive, $20 for a medium pizza, ouch.

    (4)
  • Lisa W.

I see that alot of people like this pizza and I must say I didn't enjoy the crust or the sauce that much. The Crust had a corn meal consistency and the sauce I found to be very bland. It wasn't for me. The service here was good and there wasn't much of a wait.

  • Stacy K.

The pizza isn't bad. Not the best by far but it's ok. The place has a cool hippy atmosphere. That's where the peace, love and happiness ended for us. Shannon our waitress seemed horribly put out when we asked about house specials or what she suggested. The next mistake was asking what drinks she suggested. At that point I really felt like I should apologize for bothering her. Not the best experience.

This was my first visit to any Mellow Mushroom franchise and I must say I was very pleased. We were seated quickly, our server had a great attitude and was attentive, and the food was delicious. The pizza is thick so if you aren't a big eater, consider the medium rather than the large. We had the House Special pizza and a couple beers. Everything came to us quickly and the prices were very fair. Especially when you consider the tourist town location. I'll eat at another Mellow Mushroom again on my travels.

What can I say but delicious! Originally ate at one of these in Savannah, GA a few years back and found one on our last trip to Pigeon Forge a couple years ago. Well on this trip back it was our first stop. Just as awesome as we remember it. Great service, fun atmosphere, and tasty food. Started off with spinach artichoke dip--and wow--it was one of the best we've ever had. For entrees we've only ever done pizzas (which all are delightful), but did see calzones and sandwiches come out of the kitchen looking scrumptious as well. A must if you're in the area. This is forever a staple to our trips here.

HOLY SHIITAKE PIE! I've been here a few times in the past but sometimes the SERVER an make the experience. Not one time did we have to 'ASK' for anything. Our server, HANNAH, was on top of our needs...everything from drink refills, to take home boxes, to dinner ware. Mellow Mushroom has two locations in this part of town. The other location is ridiculously busy because it's at the Island, which has relieved some of the crowding that normally takes place at this location. We were sat in the overflow area, the 'dead section', of the restaurant. Apparently this is the section that they don't sit people in unless they request a specific server. Unfortunately the overflow section is dark and not too much fun to sit in. IF you want to best experience every at the Mushroom...sit by the front windows or near the "fireplace" that is void of fire but full of glowing lava lamps. Drinks are refillable! SCORE! This was the deliciousness I ordered: Holy Shiitake Pie A blend of Shiitake, Button and Portobello mushrooms with Caramelized Onions on an Olive oil and Garlic base with Mozzarella and Italian MontAmoré cheese drizzled with Garlic Aioli and a spritz of Black Truffle Oil. Garnished with fresh chives and shaved Parmesan. Delicious. I only ate half of my 10" pie...brought two pieces home...at them for lunch after reheating at 400 degrees for 15 minutes and they were DELISH all over again!

Mellow Mushroom's a great place for families to have pizza. Thus, if you're not a fan of loud families or kiddos, move along. But you'll miss out of a great selection of pies and other goodies.

Great menu, good food. Got poolside delivery, pepperoni/sausage pizza, baked wings, meatball appetizer. Pizza was very good, wings had good taste but not crispy (a little soggy). Meatball good, but too much cheese on them. Would go back to try more of menu.

Fantastic, fun sit down pizza place. The pizza is some of the best I've ever had! Their signature crust sprinkled with parmesan is something that you don't find elsewhere. Unique atmosphere with great music and unbeatable pizza.

I rarely give 5 stars and this place earns it. I was given several samples of local beer and service was above and beyond. Pizza is always good fresh out of the oven but this place had all the right stuff. I am a New Yorker and pizza is the best here but they really felt like home. Great job

Why are these not in the Chicagoland area? Oh right, cuz we know SOOOOOO much about pizza. Just ask Papa Johns, Toppers, Pizza Hut, Dominoes, Giordanos, lil Caesars or any of the other monstrosities that pepper our city like so many red pepper flakes that stick into the roof of your mouth and cause discomfort. In Chicago, the good pizzas are Pequods, Piece, Lous and maybe a handful of other small places that know how to do it right. Mellow Mushroom is so bomb you guys. Serious, you need to get what I get, Kosmic Karma with pepperoni and a beer. Pizza is the answer and beer is the question. Both of them are why I keep my shirt on at the beach. Whatever I'm working on it, get off my case. Any place that encourages drug use iin the south, I am all about it. And I love how all these places in Pigeon Forge are staffed by 12 year olds who dont know what to say when I tell them I am tripping balls right now and proceed to stroke all the t shirts. Serious though, cmon in and get a pizza for the family, they will love all the crazy crap on the walls.

First time at a mellow mushroom restaurant. This one had a great atmosphere everyone was extremely pleasant. Walked in and seated right away. Ordered a red potatoe pizza a big cheese hoagie and garlic pretzels. We were told it would be about 25 minutes on the pizza which was just fine with us. Stephanie our server was awesome she kept checking in on us kept refilling our lemonade prior to us ever being out. Once food arrived she made sure everything was great. Manager even came over to make sure things were good. Can't wait until the one in st. Louis Mo opens up. Great food, awesome server, and definitely worth trying.

I expected this location to be as great as the one I went to in Wilmington NC. WRONG! I ordered the meat lovers pizza, buffalo chicken pizza and their baked buffalo wings. I was advised that it would be a 25 minute wait and I was fine with that. Went to the bar waiting and had a drink called The Zombie which was really good while I was waiting for my food. The meat lovers pizza was just as good as the one I had in Wilmington NC, but the buffalo chicken? There was barely any chicken on the pizza!!! How disappointing! I paid $64.95 for large pizzas and wings only to have one of pizzas be subpar Do not get me started on the wings! Tasteless with barely any buffalo sauce and soggy. I like my wings to be sticky and saucy. These were the worst wings I have ever tried. I hope that that was just a fluke, a one off. Needless to say, next time I will just order Dominos when I go back in November to Pigeon Forge.

yummmm!!! Wow I wish we had one of these back home!! You can build your own pizza in every way, not like your normal pizza place! So many options, from carnivores to vegan it's friendly for all. We got there spinach dip and a build your now pizza, with pesto base, Mozz cheese, and pesto shrimp. OMG MY WORD!!! So flippin good!!!

Considering the hype, I was expecting a big more. Don't get me wrong, the food was good but when you're making claims about having the best pizza ever you're building a huge expectation. We also had a few people particularly mention this as a place to go while in the area so the hype was definitely up and I don't know that it quite up to all that. The service was excellent all around and the atmosphere was fine. The mushroom decor all around was a little strange in places but mostly okay. The lava lamp fireplaces were clever. The pretzels weren't quite as good as they sounded on the menu, and since they're just twists of the same dough they use for the pizza, if you're ordering pizza, I felt like I was just getting a lot of baked dough. Overall, not bad but not that memorable. Nothing I would seek out again.

This place got a lot of hype so we thought we would try it. It's pricey. The pizza was good tasting- what little "pizza" there was. The majority of both pizzas we ordered were crust. Very thick crust. Is this how the pizza normally is at this place. Imagine a slice of pizza- 3/4th of it was crust. I was disappointed.

We are in town on vacation. This was definitely the best restaurant we have been so far here. It may have been the best pizza ive ever had. The crust is delicious. Our server trey (sorry if i spelled that wrong) was wonderful. The manager actually was walking around checking on people which was great to see. We really felt like valued customers.

When I'm traveling, I usually try to frequent restaurant with local flavor. However, I have quite a few dietary restrictions, so I knew I wouldn't fare so well in Pigeon Forge: the Land of Steak and Pancake Houses. I've been to two other Mellow Mushroom locations and have always enjoyed it, so we popped in here for dinner because I knew they offered a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. I got the mega veggie pizza with delicious vegan cheese and couldn't have been more satisfied. The crust is out of this world and the cheese (Daiya brand) is super convincing. Our server Jamie was very personable and sweet as well!

Good pizza, crust becomes soggy and not able to hold the toppings. Had to eat with a fork. I prefer Dewey's pizza in Cincinnati! We had the house special pizza without the ground beef and bacon. All the toppings tasted very fresh. The best part was that Marble Slab was right next door, and the cookie drizzle ice cream was yummy!!

Yes, I have a MM addiction. Why do you ask? MM is always a safe bet when you have a pescetarian and meat eater trying to find something to eat in a new town. We ordered the White Rabbit (local pie) and the Funny BBQ chicken to go after a long day so being a tourist. We drank our at the bar and chatted with the bartender while we waited. My only complaint about this location is that they play top 40 music. You can imagine my confusion to walk in and hear "Call Me Maybe" at MM.

I had seen a Mellow Mushroom while traveling in Atlanta and thought the name was funny for a pizza place, but never stopped in. However in Pigeon Forge we were looking for good pizza and Yelp! sent us to the Mellow Mushroom there. As we walked in the door I noticed a sign that said "Denver, Atlanta, Pigeon Forge" so it was the same company and found it interesting that Pigeon Forge rated up there with Denver and Atlanta for a restaurant location. It was kind of late but the restaurant was open for another 3 hours or so. It looked like they just survived a massive crowd as almost every table needed bussing but the place itself was brightly decorated and looked very nice. There were some large tables of families there so I can imagine in this location they can easily get slammed with business. The menu is creative and a lot of the pizzas sounded really tasty. We settled on a white pizza with garlic and spinach and also tried their Kosmic Karma. They were both really very good!!! We also ordered a ceasar salad, which was a little tangier than I like, but it hit the spot. We're kind of picky so we had put in changes on our pizza and asked for the salad without extra parmesan cheese and the kitchen got them all wrong. As different staff from our waiter brought our food our waiter (I think his name was Brandon, Braydon, Brent, something like that - I wish I could remember his name, he was extremely nice) didn't see the orders were done incorrectly until he came to visit us later. He was crestfallen, especially over the pizza mistake, and since we chose not to return the mistake pizza had the kitchen redo it correctly and brought it to us all boxed up so we could take it with us. Whee! Nothing better than free take-home pizza, especially from a place so tasty. The next time I'm in Atlanta (or Denver, or Pigeon Forge) and I see Mellow Mushroom, chances are I'll be in there for some of their delicious pizza.

Mmmhhh. Chicken Cesar Salad Pizza... interesting and sounds weird but it was really good! Have you ever had lettuce on a pizza?? Service was great. Our waitress frequently came back and ask if we're doing okay, if we needed refills, if we needed anything else. Place was very nicely decorated. Reminded me of Santa Cruz, CA with all those mushrooms decorations every where. ;) I might be a little bias since this is my first Mellow Mushroom, but having tried many different pizza joints (chains and local pizzerias) Mellow Mushroom has exceed my expectations.

We were on vacation in Gatlinburg. It was my husband, son (17 months) and myself. We were going to order a pizza, when a gentleman suggested we go to this restaurant. It had a very laid back atmosphere and the pizza was very good. We got there and were immediately seated. Our server was quick and efficient with our drinks and was helpful to suggest an appetizer and pizza selections When we did make our selection (cheese bread and a medium pepperoni and sausage pizza. He did look disappointed that we didn't get one of the specialty pizzas. Our bread was quick and when we finished the bread, our pizza arrived. It wasn't greasy like most pepperoni pizzas can be and it was very delicious. The crust was crispy and the toppings were really good. It was a great experience for a family that just wanted something laid back!

Amazing pizza, great menu...more expensive than most places, but worth it. Be cautious when building your own pizza. My large pizza with grilled chicken, provolone, spinach, pesto, olive oil and garlic base came to about $27! At least it was very LARGE.

Really good pizza, and cool theme place...the crust is nice and soft, plenty of cheese, but not to greasy. The sauce was ok and alittle bland, and alittle on the expensive side, but it's in a tourist area, so I'm guessing everything is.

The food never disappoints! I was able to share this dining experience with my entire family (14 people) so I sampled the Gourmet White (the olive oil with the blend of provolone and feta cheese makes a perfect flavor combination), Meaty Meat (your typical meat pizza but just seems better with the signature flavored crust), Pepporini (can't go wrong with a classic), Funky Q Chicken (the sweet and slightly tangy BBQ sauce, tender chicken and blend of cheeses makes it too easy to eat another slice) and a Steak & Cheese hoagie (perfectly tenderized steak and mouth watering vegetables). Having eaten at Mellow Mushroom before at many of their locations I would highly recommend the House Special and the Steak & Cheese hoagie. The House Special is their take on the classic deluxe but with such flavorful vegetables and tasty meats it is very clear why it is called the House Special. As someone who has had a true Philly Cheesesteak, the Steak & Cheese should be put right up there on that list but adding the extras that are not a part of Philly's classic may put the icing on the cake.

Arrived 7:30 PM to give this restaurant a try. I asked the hostess how long the wait was and she said around 30 minutes. At 8 PM I went to inquire again about how much longer the wait should be. I was told 10-15 minutes, at 8:25(almost an hour from the beginning of the wait) I again inquired how long it would be and the response this time was "we are unsure it could be 5 minutes could be 15". I guess I should have listened to the reviews here about the service being super slow.

The calzones were so good. They have gluten free pizza which was good too. They have open air seating, but covered from the elements. Trendy and cool. Very modern. I would definitely eat there again. I hope they open one up in Illinois!!!

I ordered a spinach, onion and tomato calzone ... and to my table arrived an onion calzone. The waiter then argued about what I ordered. My husband ordered the mushroom club. when it arrived, he said that it is not what he ordered, the waiter insisted that it was a mushroom club. My husband got the menu to show him. I told him to have them re-do it since they were remaking it, but alas, he was starving. I wanted to just leave. once my calzone finally came, it was ok. the sauce was terrible. it tasted as though it came straight out of the can. I did expect that a manager would come by or that at least the check would be altered, but no. We got charged for everything. we were so exhausted and pissed off that it messed up our whole night. This was probably the worst dining experience I have had.

So let me start by being honest, my wife and I had heard about the Mello Mushroom from our family here in Sevierville. So after hearing the good reviews we wanted to come and check it out well here is where the bad news comes. Before we got our table I went to the restroom to find it very dirty (to be expected since they where in their dinner rush), and I sat down to use the restroom. Well upon getting up I had noticed the pipe had showered the back of me in a water leak. I was pretty upset so I went to inform a manager of the problem and I told my wife let's not eat here. I spoke to Ed one of the managers who asked my wife and I to stay and he would buy us dinner. I hate staying for the free food but I figured I would ask my wife if she wanted to give it a try anyway. Well we were happy we did!! The environment is very cool and comfortable and the music rocks. Now on to the food, it was fantastic! We had the meatballs for an appetizer and I also had a garden salad both were great and didn't have the pre done taste that I hate. Then came the pizza, it was some of the best pizza I had tasted in a long time and I'm from Chicago! We had a mix between the mighty meaty and the house special and it melted in my mouth. The crust was perfectly cooked and not burnt or gooey. The meats and veggies also tasted fresh and not frozen! So needless to say what started out as a almost didn't happen turned into a really great dinner and I am happy we were talked into staying. I might also add that the staff is fantastic they were so friendly and not only did they get a Plummer in to fix the leak while I was still eating dinner but they also gave me a replacement shirt to replace the one that got water all over it! Top notch customer service, and a perfect example of even though something bad may happen, it's how you handle it that really matters and this Mellow Mushroom handled it above and beyond what we expected! Keep up the great work guys, and if you're reading this stop reading and go try this great pizza place!

Pretty good, but not great. A typical "Medium" - 14" is about $20-22 - rather pricey since the toppings are rather skimpy and don't go near the edge. Very creative varieties - many without the classic tomato sauce base. Service is OK.

Has my favorite pizza. The philosopher but we had an issue with one of our orders. But Eddie greeted us and acknowledged the problem. Remade out meals and paid for lunch. Turned what stated out as a bag experience and turned it to a positive on. Thanks Eddie manager of mellow mushroom.

The Mellow Mushroom . . . well This place is pretty righteous! I ate here with a bunch of friends (7 total) for dinner this past saturday. The atmosphere was great, people of all ages and everyone having a great time. The service was really good as well. There are many T.V.'s around and had different sporting events on including the U.S. Open. This place does do take out even thou it says it doesn't *(maybe at one time they didn't but they do now)* The drinks are coke products and there is beer on tap if anyone wants as well. We had an assortment of food from calzone's to pizza. The portions are really a good size themselves. One of my buddys got a cheese calzone and it was loaded with cheese. Me and another one of my buddies decided to order the Buffalo Chicken . . .WOW. I was pretty impressed with this pie it was pretty unique. The buffalo chicken was very tender, carmelized onions, (yea I said carmelized onions was really righteous) applewood smoked bacon, buffalo sauce on the pie and a choice of either (blue cheese or ranch) we got the blue cheese and wasn't overbearing. The crust of the pie was really good as well, light, flavorful, easy to cut. The meal was righteous and the pie and drinks were reasonably priced. They were busy and was on top of it. I would recommend to anyone to give this place a go to see if you would enjoy it. I know I have recommended this place to a few friends that are down there this week and they called me last night when they got there and said that they ordered the pies and they were dynamite.

My brother and took a Roadtrip from California to Washington D.C. and stayed in a motel down the street. Everything up and down the steeet is either chain restaurant, pancakes, steakhouse, grill or fast food. The big neon sign caught my eye Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakery. I love mushrooms and I love pizza. We had the spinach salad it comes with apples, dried cherries, feta and glazed pecans. It is to die for delicious. Large mega veggie pizza is 8 slices. Tasty and healthy. Between the two of us we had 2 slices and ordered another spinach salad to-go. The crust is hearty, buttery, fluffy and golden. Sauce we got is just your averge red marinara. Cheesenis gooey, stringy, chewy and good. They make specialty pies with other sauces and different toppings. Our server Tasha was on point very attentive refilling our drinks and checked how we were doing no less than 5 times always with a smile. They have a bar with happy hour 3p-6p, good selection and desserts. Decor is awesome.

Great pizza and atmosphere. Being from WV, I am a Pies and Pints fan...and this place makes P&P look like Little Caesars. Definitely worth the stop, and I suggest the wings they are oven baked and very good. For my family of 4 it was around $35...pretty good price for Pigeon Forge area. The pizza truly feels you up and the jukebox is great...only place I have ever seen that you put money in it and you can actually here it through the restaurant.

Regular Mellow Mushroom pies, good but pricey. Not fast if you're in a hurry go elsewhere. Sandwich was tasty rather small. One sandwich, one topping pizza $28.

As a side note I can't comment on the overall experience as a whole because we didn't stay and eat but got our food to go....however, the pizza was fantastic! Took about 20 minutes to get our order on a busy Friday night which was very reasonable and both pizzas we got were great! Although we didn't stay we did wait inside and from all I saw things were clean, we were greeted promptly, everyone there seemed to be enjoying themselves and having a nice meal. I look forward to going back and eating there again, this time inside the next time I am in town!

This was quite possibly my worst experience at Mellow Mushroom ever. I knew we were in trouble when the hostess took 5 minutes to decide where we should be seated when no one else was waiting. The server appeared 10 minutes later, distracted, and totally inattentive. He took our drink and app order and never returned. I flagged him down 30 minutes later to place our order. Service never improved. I had to ask the person that delivered our pizza for a glass of water. The pizza, while delicious, wasn't worth the 2 1/2 hour dining experience.

Good Pizza but over priced. a 16 inch pizza is $25. Enough to feed a family of 3. We ordered one pizza, two waters and one diet coke, had a $5 off coupon and it was still $27 with tip. For Pizza?

If I was rating this on food quality it would be a 5 star. However, it's just pizza and you can't keep charging $20-30 for a large pizza. I had the medium sized buffalo chicken pizza and it was great. Anying with bacon and carmelized onions on it is incredible. it was just spicy enough to be great. My wife and I also split the Greek salad and it was equally great. They had a dressing called 'Esperanza' that was really good on it. I would recommend coming here if you want a good pizza and can afford an overpriced meal.

I was in Pigeon Forge on vacation (like everyone else in the town, pretty much) and was seriously craving some pizza. Enter Mellow Mushroom. Being from Chicago, home of the most delicious pizza pie in the world, this place was already at a disadvantage. I'll admit I was pleasantly surprised; we ordered a plain cheese, and there was no shortage of mozerella in sight. The crust was delicious too; soft and buttery. My only complaint was all the frickin Parmesan cheese they put on there for you; I can sprinkle it on myself just fine, thanks :P The service wasn't bad; a little slow, but the guy was nice enough and we didn't have to ask for refills on our drinks. The atmosphere is nifty too; a little touristy, but not nearly as bad as some of the other places along the Parkway. It had a real trippy 60s/70s feel to it, and if you sit in the windowed dining room, in the very middle, and you have a large party (think 8-12 people), you might get seated in the lava lamp booth (see the picture) :) Bringing it down to three stars was the lack of soap in the bathroom. I know it sounds nitpicky, but as any food-service establishment I expect a clean restroom with plenty of soap, especially considering your employees are required to wash their hands before handing the food you might be eating. After seeing an employee come in, use the bathroom, and leave after only rinsing her hands with water we hauled ass out of there. I hope that's not the norm, but I really don't plan on being back.

Visited because of the cute decor and I'm glad I did! Great music and delicious food! For an appetizer we had the meatballs... Oh boy!! So delicious! We followed it up by two separate pizzas cheese and sausage for me and mellowteranian for my hubby. Chicagoans= skeptical pizza eaters... Well we were very pleasantly surprised! A must have and must visit if you're in the area and a semi hippy like me... Check it out!! P.S.- my hubby says this is the best Mediterranean pizza he's ever had!!

The FOOD was GREAT! The SERVICE was FRIENDLY. The price was a little expensive but in comparison to restaurants in the area it was a good deal and worth it for the quality of food. The ATMOSPHERE was OUT OF THIS WORLD!

I had one of the Calzone pies and my wife had a pizza. Both were very good and filling. Plus the staff were very helpful in assisting in our choices. The waiter was especially attuned to our needs. The place gets a five particularly because of the staff.

Love me some MM. I love their pizza and we try to stop in every chance we get. Our server, although very helpful, was a bit strange this time....but as I said he was a good server. We will eat here again and again. The price is good and the food is great.

We went in with a party of 17 people and told them we wanted to sit separately. They would not split us up even though they had 10 or more empty booths and we were the only customers waiting. We waited for the large table to empty of previous customers for 45 minutes when we were told 15 minutes. Once we were seated they only gave us one waiter and we were waiting 10 minutes after he took our drink order and still no drinks. We saw our waiter standing in the kitchen laughing with other employees instead of getting our drinks. All 17 of us got up and left. The hostess was terrible at her job. No one there could care less about their customers. We will not go back. It looked like a great place, guess we will never know.

This was GREAT pizza. I'm normally one who eats the toppings and tosses the crust on my wife's plate but I was slapping her hand away with Mellow Mushroom's great tasting crust. We ordered a medium half house special, half ham and cheese (for our daughter) and a couple of salads plus drinks. Total was around $30. First the salads come in two sizes regular and Mini. The mini is a normal size salad but the regular was pretty big! I got the spicy ranch dressing which was AMAZING (if you like spicy) and I saved some of it to dip my pizza in. The pizza took a while to make (which they kindly warn you about before you order) but when it came it was sooooo good! Service was prompt and friendly. Beer and wine were also available if that's your pleasure.

Very similar to most other new Mellow Mushrooms. The decor was fun, the restaurant has a nice open feel to it, the service was fast and friendly, and the pizza was good. Also: they have very large forks.

Recently took a vacation to the Smokies and dropped into Mellow Mushroom for pizza. Service was fantastic, pizza was wonderful and calzones were GREAT! Especially paired with the ice cold Blue Moon beer. Excellent ambiance as well. Server gave us a great suggestion for mini-golf, much in his debt!

This is the first Mellow Mushroom I've been to and it certainly won't be my last. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait and plenty of parking. They were pretty busy too. The service was great, the hostess and the server were very friendly. They bake to order so it's always fresh and hot. They have unique names for all the different pizzas they offer. We ordered the House Special for our first time and it was delicious. The House Special comes with Pepperoni, Sausage, Ground Beef, Onions, Green Peppers, Mushrooms, Black Olives, Tomatoes, Ham, Bacon, and Extra Cheese. We had it without the mushrooms. They also have hoagies, calzones, salads and various appetizers available. The price wasn't too bad considering it's specialty pizza. It was $20 for a medium, 14 inch pizza, but it was worth it. Even ordering a medium we had plenty left over to bring home, which when we reheated later on, was still as good as when it was served fresh. (Apparently our dogs wanted some as well seeing as when I left the table for a minute I heard a fork drop and pizza on the floor with two dogs looking up like they were innocent. ) The drinks were the same price they'd be anywhere. Bottled beer was $3 a piece which is normal since it wasn't happy hour. I definitely recommend Mellow Mushroom and can't wait to go back!

The name of the business, along with their neat-o sign drew my fiance & I in for lunch that we could take back to our cabin after a morning of sight-seeing in the Smokies. We ordered a large sausage pizza, and it only took 15 mins., even though they were busy, to get it ready for us to go. It is seriously some of the BEST pizza that I have EVER eaten. The crust was just amazing. Definitely recommend it, and we WILL be going back next time we're in Pigeon Forge!
